Junior Kiwi Saver
The Junior Kiwi Saver Account is designed specifically for your children to help teach them the value of saving, spending and sharing early on.
United Credit Union & MoonJar are committed to the education of your children when it comes to the use of money so that when your children leave school they avoid the traps that lead to debt.
MoonJar offers creative tools for children to understand how to use money and build a strong financial foundation to reach their goals.
For example, the Moonjar Moneyboxes are an innovative learning tool that helps children easily grasp three basic concepts of financial management: spending, saving and sharing. They provide a visual way for children to think about money. Our Junior Kiwi saver account has been modelled in much the same way as the Moonjar Moneybox.
United Credit Union has purchased toolkits from Breakthru Kids and on selected birthdays UCU’s Junior Kiwi Saver account holders will receive absolutely FREE one of the toolkits identified below.
Junior Kiwi Saver accounts are available to children (up to age 18) of UCU members. Simply complete the application to join form overleaf and return it to UCU.
Remember you can also fund your childrens account directly from your account at NO COST.
We encourage savings by offering an attractive interest rate on the minimum monthly balance, and provide your child with the option of 3 accounts specifically taylored for 'saving', 'spending' and 'sharing'.
So while you watch your child grow, they can watch their savings and interest grow too.
